When searching for the right Leicester student accommodation, you should always take into account the following:
- What type of accommodation do I need (halls of residence, studio flats or house shares, for example)?
- Location, location… Where should my student accommodation be (on-campus, town centre, near public transport links)?
- What is that area like for students to live in?
- What is my budget?
- What is included in the rent (for example, utilities)? If not, the cost of these, as well as other essentials, will need to be factored into your budget, too.
How to book your Leicester student accommodation during lockdown
Once you’ve seen something you like, you can then request an online video tour of the property with a member of our team, where you will be able to get a real-time look at the accommodation you like, plus answers to any questions you might have.
Make sure that, during your virtual tour, you take a good look around the property, so that you are fully up to date on information, such as how much storage space there will be, parking facilities, security, space for bike storage and what general condition the property is in.
The property you are viewing should look clean and be in good overall condition. Your guide will help you to look out for any signs of mould, damp, pest infestation or general state of disrepair, such as leaks, broken central heating, etc.
Check for the presence of vital appliances too, such as smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, light switches and electric sockets. These should all be working correctly, as should any appliances that are provided in the property, such as the oven and fridge.
