Moving into my property
Q. Can I put my belongings in my property over the summer?
As requirements vary depending on the property you choose, please contact us for further details if you are unsure.
Q. When can I move in?
This will be detailed on your tenancy agreement. You can move in from when you start paying full rent for the property. Please contact Westmanor if you are unsure.
Q. Do I need to bring anything with me when I come to move in?
Yes. When collecting your keys, you must bring a valid piece of photographic ID (such as a passport or driving licence).
Additionally, you must ensure that all relevant paperwork has been completed and returned. Keys cannot be issued, and you will not be allowed to move into your accommodation (or move belongings in over the summer) if any of the following apply:
- Tenancy Agreement: Your tenancy agreement has not been signed and returned.
- Guarantor Documentation (if applicable): A completed guarantor mandate has not been provided, along with proof of your guarantor’s address and a copy of their photo ID.

- Gym Disclaimer: A gym disclaimer has not been signed and returned (applicable to residents of The Student Hideout only).
- Outstanding Payments: Any rent payments due prior to move-in remain outstanding.
- Tenant ID: A copy of your own acceptable photo ID has not been provided to us.
If you are unsure whether you have completed any of these items, please contact a member of the Westmanor team before your move-in date to avoid any delays!
Q. Where do I collect my keys from?
All keys must be collected from our main office at the following address:
Westmanor Student Living

Full details regarding your specific key collection process will be emailed to you prior to your move-in date. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact our team!
Q. I will not be able to collect my keys during your office opening hours, what can I do?
It is possible for somebody to collect the keys on your behalf. You must ensure that you send us an email giving your permission for the person to collect the keys and provide the name. The person will need to bring photo identification with them.
Q. What will I be provided with when I come to move in?
Westmanor staff will provide you with the following:
- A set of keys for your property
- An inventory for your flat/room and, if you are the first tenant to move in, you will also be given an inventory for communal areas of your accommodation. Please check both carefully and return to the Westmanor office within 24 hours of moving in. (NB Late inventories cannot be used as a valid statement of the condition of your accommodation)
- Tenancy Information booklet
- ‘Stay Safe’ booklet
- Details of meter readings (where tenants are required to pay utility bills) from the start date of your contract together with utility supply companies.
